We’re working on something big for Cochrane’s future – and we need your help! The Community Wellness Plan (CWP) is all about making our Town a safer and healthier place for everyone, especially young people.
The goal? To create a robust roadmap to support youth well-being in the community - for example, we want to make sure kids and teens feel healthy, happy, safe and supported as they grow and learn. By the end of this process, we'll have a clear picture of what programs and support are already out there and what we can do better. This is a three year plan that is expected to be complete by March 31, 2025.
The plan in action
We’re chatting with residents, youth, their families, youth service organizations and community members to better understand what’s working and what could be improved. From these conversations, you’ll help us to:
Find better ways to connect with and support youth through intervention and preventative programming
Develop accessible and evidence-based wellness strategies that prevent youth gang and gun violence
Strengthen community resilience through community collaboration and action
Join the conversation
Our youth survey is now open! Join the conversation:
In person: Meet the project team at the SLS Centre main lobby on Thursday, Feb. 6, from 5-7:30 PM to ask questions and give your input.
From home: Take the 7-9 minute online survey.
Help make Cochrane an even better place for youth! Survey closes Feb. 16.

The Town of Cochrane wants to know what it's like growing up here. Tell us what spaces, places and people help you feel safe and what might be missing. If you're between 12 and 24 years old, this survey is your chance to share your thoughts - and you could win a $50 VISA gift card for taking part!
It'll take about 7 to 9 minutes to complete, and your feedback will help the Town take real actions that matter. Your input is key to making sure we plan right, so thanks for being part of this!
Please know that all your answers are completely confidential and anonymous
We won’t ask for your name, and nothing you share will identify you
If there's a question you'd rather not answer, no problem - just skip it
We’re just glad to hear your voice and get your feedback to help make Cochrane a more supportive place for youth.
Have questions about the survey or need help filling out the survey, email Lisa at: Lisa.Armstrong@bassa.ca
