Cochrane has a heritage guideline document to reinforce and promote architectural aesthetics that reflect Cochrane’s unique western heritage character and sense of place. Cochrane’s current Western Heritage Design Guidelines was adopted in 2000. Town Administration has initiated a comprehensive review and re-write to ensure it remains current and effective in regulating land uses and development within the Town.
The New Document has been adopted by Council and incorporated into the Land Use Bylaw. The Framework will be implemented through the regular development permit process. The Framework will be reviewed on a regular basis as part of the Land Use Bylaw.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in the engagement process.
