The Town of Cochrane in partnership with Southland Transportation are seeking your feedback on the planned transit integration of fixed local COLT routes with an enhanced On-It regional service.
The initial plan includes four fixed COLT route buses during peak periods (roughly 5:30am – 8:30am & 3:30pm – 6:30pm) that connect to Cochrane’s new Transit and Innovation Hub (360 Railway St. W.). At the Transit/Innovation Hub, riders will be able to connect across Cochrane and to/from Calgary on the following routes:
Transit Hub to Brentwood LRT Station/UofC
Transit Hub to SAIT and Downtown
Transit Hub to Foothills Hospital and Downtown
Potential summer route to Banff
When does the service launch?
Due to COVID-19 the launch of the new integrated regional service has been delayed until demand increases. Currently, the Town and Southland are offering an interim regional service. More details can be found at:https://www.onitregionaltransit.ca/cochrane-commuter/
Why brentwood LRT station?
Brentwood has been selected in collaboration with Calgary Transit, because it is a hub for the Max Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) line. The MAX system will allow passengers to connect across the city on express routes that do not go through downtown. It will also reduce the number of transfers for many passengers and not add unnecessary CTrain passengers between Crowfoot and Brentwood. Also, Brentwood allows for UofC students to take the bus directly to UofC without needing a Calgary Transit UPass.

Thank you to everyone who completed our survey. The survey is now closed. Your feedback is included the project’s What We Heard Report (right hand side of this page). The What We Heard Report has been shared with the project team as a resource to help them formulate their recommendations regarding regional transit service, routes, and fares.
